Congratulations to MonashHeart PhD fellow Dr Abdul Ihdayhid who won the Ralph Reader clinical prize at the recent Cardiac Society of Australia & New Zealand (CSANZ) meeting in Perth. The Ralph Reader prize is awarded to the most outstanding young investigator and is highly competed for. Dr Ihdayhid's research involved developing a technique to measure coronary blood flow utilizing cardiac CT technology combining both anatomy and physiology in the one study. #csanz2017 #monashheart #monashhealth #ralphreaderprize #cardiacct #research #worldleader #bestcareforourpatients ... MonashHeart added 2 new photos.

Huge day for MonashHeart at CSANZ in Perth with 14 presentations scheduled across the morning (1st πŸ“·) & afternoon (2nd πŸ“·).

Our speakers include cardiologists, nurse consultant, cardiology registrars, PHD candidates, subspecialty fellows & a medical student.

We particularly wish Dr Abdul Ihdayhid (top right) all the very best for his Ralph Reader Award presentation.

Day 1 of the 2017 Cardiac Society of Australia & New Zealand (CSANZ) annual scientific meeting in Perth & MonashHeart is well represented.

Top left Clinical Research Coordinator Jordan Lagoune, shortlisted as a finalist for the CSANZ Allied Health prize, is presenting on the feasibility & accuracy of CTCA in elderly patients.

Electrophysiologist Dr Emily Kotschet (top right) is speaking on the rare genetic disorder Andersen-Tawil Syndrome & associated bidirectional VT.

3rd year cardiology registrar Dr Anoop Koshy (lower left) is discussing novel research into heart rate assessment by smart watch.

Prof Harper (lower middle) is presenting on the Australian Government MBS review of cardiac item numbers.

Medical student Francis Ha is sharing his research comparing the safety & efficacy of 2 types of coronary stents.

Today's diversity of presentations reflects the breath of MonashHeart's translational research efforts to improve the prevention & management of heart disease.
