500th rapid assessment chest pain clinic patient seen
Today marked the 500th patient seen by a heart doctor in our rapid assessment chest pain clinic based at MonashHeart Clayton. This clinic ensures early access for patients in the community with suspected heart disease, with specialist cardiologist review, cardiac assessment, diagnosis and treatment options. Patients like Mr Monaco, who was seen in the clinic, had same day cardiac CT which found critical narrowings in two of his coronary arteries and who subsequently had a coronary angiogram and angioplasty two days later, averting a potentially life threatening heart attack.
