Improvements for cardiac CT (computed tomography) patients
After a highly successful inaugural 2009 MonashHeart Golf Challenge in November 2009 which raised over $40,000 in funds, an iStat machine for cardiac CT services at MonashHeart Clayton has been purchased.
An iStat machine is a handheld device for patient bedside point-of-care diagnostic testing.
“The introduction of pre-CT blood analysis with the iStat machine has resulted in vast improvements in streamlining and simplifying patient preparation and timeliness of CT,” said Professor Ian Meredith, Director of MonashHeart, Southern Health.
