Having completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Monash University, Dr Adam Hutchison undertook his basic medical training with Southern Health and associated regional hospitals. In 2008 Adam concluded his two year advanced cardiology training program with MonashHeart, gaining his FRACP in 2009.  That same year, Adam commenced a combined PhD/Interventional fellowship with Monash University and MonashHeart.
 
His area of research interest is in the field of improving systems of care in patients with heart attack. Adam has been key in the MonAMI project – a collaborative pilot undertaken with Ambulance Victoria, Southern Health and MonashHeart. The outstanding results of this project have been recognised as a world-class cardiac model of care and the project has been implemented by the Victorian government across metropolitan Melbourne and Geelong. Adam has presented the MonAMI project results extensively, with oral presentations at national conferences and international publications.
