Dr Stuart Moir is a clinical cardiologist and non invasive imaging specialist, with expertise in all forms of echocardiography (TTE, stress and TOE) as well as cardiac CT.
He completed his clinical cardiology training and an 18 month fellowship in echocardiography at MonashHeart. Stuart then undertook a PhD with the Cardiac Imaging Research Group, University of Queensland, Department of Medicine, examining the application of contrast echocardiography for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease. As a research fellow he was awarded the prestigious combined National Heart Foundation and National Health and Medical Research Council Scholarship, and presented many abstract papers at national and international conferences, including several presentations at the scientific sessions of the AHA, ASE, ESC and was a finalist for the Ralph Reader Prize at the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. Stuart spent 14 months as the contrast echocardiography fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Min USA. He returned to Australia to complete his PhD in 2006, which led to several publications in leading international journals, including first author studies in Circulation and AHJ.
Stuart has been an invited faculty member at a number of national conferences as well as for the Annual Scientific Sessions of the American Society of Echocardiography, is a reviewer for a number of international journals, and is a member of the American Society of Echocardiography contrast echocardiography guidelines writing committee. He has more recently completed level 2 training in cardiac CT with the leading CVCTA/MonashHeart cardiac CT training team.
