Associate Professor Sujith Seneviratne (Sene) graduated from the University of Melbourne where he was awarded the Boot’s prize in pharmacology and included in the Dean’s honours list given to the five most outstanding students. Sene completed his interventional cardiology training at Southern Health’s Monash Medical Centre Clayton in Melbourne. He pursued his interest in cardiac computed tomography (CT) at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital 2006-2007, where he completed a research fellowship, achieving level 3 training.
Sene is considered a leader in the cardiac CT field in Australia and has a special interest in CT stress perfusion and the role of cardiac CT in the management of acute chest pain. Not only has Sene presented at multiple cardiology meetings both locally and internationally, but he has also published widely in prestigious journals including JACC, Circulation Imaging, Heart, Radiology and ATVB. He is head cardiologist of MonahHeart’s luminary site 320-slice cardiac CT facility, where he also practices as an interventional cardiologist and is a member of Southern Health’s senior medical staff.
