Bookings and appointments

Are parking facilities available at MonashHeart sites?

All three MonashHeart sites have public car parking facilities. Fees apply.
All three sites also have a patient drop-off area immediately outside the front door of the hospital.

Can I choose the clinic site for my appointment?

While we try to book you in to the site most convenient for you, for a number of reasons, it may not be possible for you to have your test at the MonashHeart site of your choice.

How do I make a booking?

Fax, scan and email, post or drop off your doctor’s referral at a MonashHeart site. Bookings for exercise stress tests can only be made once we have received a copy of your doctor’s referral to ensure you are booked in for the correct test.

What if I (or the patient) does not understand or speak English?

MonashHeart has access to a large number of interpreters. Call 1300 MHEART (1300 643 278) at least a day before your appointment and select the site where your test or procedure will be performed. We will make arrangements for an interpreter to be present on the day of your test / procedure.

What should I bring on the day of my appointment?

For all tests and procedures, please bring your Medicare card or healthcare card, private health insurance card and a list of current medications.

There is no need to bring anything special for simple tests such as:

For an exercise stress test or exercise stress echocardiogram please wear comfortable clothing and runners as these tests involve running on a treadmill.

For a day case cardiac catheterisation laboratory procedure, such as a pacemaker implant or coronary angiogram, there is no need to bring toiletries or night attire.

If your cardiac catheterisation laboratory procedure involves an overnight stay (eg coronary angioplasty) please bring toiletries, night attire, dressing gown and slippers.
