In order to make an appointment, you need to have a letter of referral
from your general practitioner which must be provided at the time
of your appointment.

Interpreters

A free telephone interpreting service is available at the time of consultation. Please call us on 1300 MHEART (1300 643 278) to inform us which interpreter is needed so this can be arranged in time for your appointment. A number of our consultants speak languages other than English including Arabic, Cantonese, Chinese, Mandarin, Sinhalese and Tamil. What to bring

When attending a private consultation it is important that you bring the following with you:

  • Letter of referral from your general practitioner.
  • Medicare / Pension / Veteran Affairs card
  • Private health insurance details (if applicable)
  • List of current medications
  • General practitioner details (name, address, telephone number)
  • Relevant scans / x-rays / blood test results

Cost

As these are private consulting rooms there is an 'out of pocket' cost after the rebate has been claimed from Medicare ranging between $31.85 to $68.20 ($15 to $25 for pensioners). Further details will be noted on your appointment letter. In order to claim from Medicare, it is also essential to ensure that you bring with you a current letter of referral from your general practitioner when seeing the private consultant.
