Rotary Clayton Donation

Once again the Rotary Club of Clayton has been a fantastic supporter of MonashHeart, responding to our plea for funds to purchase special patient sit-on weigh scales for the cardiac care unit at Monash Medical Centre, Clayton. Accepting the $2275 cheque from Rotary president Mrs Lesley Zuccaro, operations manager Anne Mennen acknowledged the terrific support of Clayton Rotary towards MonashHeart and their endeavours to improve the care of over 7,500 heart patients managed through the MonashHeart cardiac care units each year. Particular thanks to the staff of Bunnings South Oakleigh, who responded to Rotary’s request for funding with a cheque for $1424 raised by Bunning’s staff.

We still need funds to purchase patient sit-on weigh scales for our cardiac care unit at Dandenong Hospital. If you want to help us raise $2,285 to make this purchase, please donate now.

RACV Donation

MonashHeart was delighted to receive a $4,000 donation from RACV in February 2012. Accepting the cheque, chief cardiac technologist, Anthony Wald said "this wonderful donation will be put towards purchasing a new, ergonomic patient bed for our busy echocardiogram service. We perform 14,000 echoes each year and need a bed that is not only easy for our heart patients to get on and off, is comfortable and adjustable, but also the best ergonomic bed for our expert sonographers".

Help us buy another five beds to replace all our echo beds with the ideal ergonomic design by donating online now.

'Love Your Heart Day' appeals letter

This Valentine’s Day Tuesday 14th February, MonashHeart is asking that not only do you 'love your heart' but also consider a donation to MonashHeart, a gift that will assist us in purchasing cardiac equipment to help us improve the leading care we provide.

Our mission is to provide the world’s best practice care to all patients in the most timely and patient-centred way. We believe our models of care serve as national and international benchmarks in patient-focused cardiac care.

In celebration of the love and affection associated with Valentine’s Day, we are appealing for donations to help us purchase two new state-of-the-art 12 lead electrocardiogram (ECG) machines and a echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) machine. These are basic cardiac tools and often the first test performed when someone has a heart condition, cardiac complaint or chest pain.

Please 'love your heart' this Valentine’s Day and make a difference in how we deliver heart care for all patients; from newborn babies with heart conditions through to our older citizens.

'Love Your Heart Day' 14th February

As Valentine’s Day approaches, romance is in the air. But this year, MonashHeart are reminding lovebirds to think of their heart, renaming February 14 as Love Your Heart Day.

The Love Your Heart campaign will begin Friday 10th February - look out for heart chocolates, heart lapel pins and Valentine's Day gifts on sale at sites around Southern Health and at major shopping centres (Chadstone, The Glen, Parkmore Shopping Centre and Dandenong Plaza)

The Love Your Heart Day festivities on February 14 will be based at Monash Medical Centere, Clayton. Stop by the Love Your Heart Day booth in the foyer to 'like' Love Your Heart Day and win some fantastic prizes. Soccer fans can also catch the Melbourne Heart Soccer Team, who will be dropping in to distribute Valentine's Day chocolates to some lucky ladies.

Check out the lunchtime BBQ with some delicious heart-friendly fare and live entertainment.  Special guest Sue Cummings will also be there to share her story of how heart disease has tragically touched her life.  All proceeds from the day will be used to help buy diagnostic equipment, which will help diagnose heart attacks and save lives.

This Valentine's Day - think with your HEART.
