Brian is currently appointed as consultant /interventional cardiologist and specialist in cardiac CT at MonashHeart. He is an Associate Professor in Medicine and supervisor of PhD students at Monash University. Brian graduated with Honours at the University of New South Wales in 2000 and completed his cardiology training at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney in 2008 (FRACP). He then completed his interventional/ PhD fellowship at MonashHeart in 2012, and was awarded his PhD in 2013 for his work on CT stress perfusion imaging. In 2017, he was awarded Doctor of Medicine (MD) for his research on CT-derived assessment of coronary flow. Brian is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular CT (FSCCT), and is a level B accredited cardiac CT angiographer in Australia. Brian has won a number of scholarships, awards and prizes including the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Basser Research Entry Scholarship in 2012-2013 and the National Heart Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowship for 2014-2015. His research interests include the role of fractional flow reserve and CT angiography in interventional cardiology and the novel CT techniques in the hemodynamic assessment of coronary arteries. His research has fostered valuable collaborations between MonashHeart and industry such as Toshiba Medical, Vitrea Imaging and Heart Flow. He has published extensively including two book chapters and in high impact journals such as the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, JACC Cardiovascular Imaging, European Heart Journal, Radiology, European Radiology, Eurointervention, Journal of Cardiovascular CT and Medical Journal of Australia.
