Dr Suraj Varma is a consultant paediatric cardiologist at MonashHeart and Monash Children’s Hospital Monash Health. He has undertaken specialist training in paediatrics and paediatric cardiology in India and Australia. He completed Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Calicut University in 2000, followed by post graduate training in paediatrics (MD Paediatrics 2006) and paediatric cardiology (FNB Paediatric Cardiology 2009). Dr Varma has subsequently trained in paediatrics and paediatric cardiology at Monash Medical Centre, Monash Health and the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. Dr Varma was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2014. Dr Varma has undertaken sub-specialty fellowships in ventricular assist device/cardiac transplantation and cardiac MRI at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. He has participated in multi-centre trials and has published in national and international journals. Dr Varma consults in all areas of paediatric cardiology.
